The 650 waste receptacle was design with the purpose of developing a waste receptacle that allowed for the depositing of waste from the side, while also providing coverage from the top. The first pattern shown below was designed as an abstraction of representing waste filling the unit using geometric triangular forms that reveal the liner colour behind. The second pattern was inspired by the markings that naturally occur on the bark of birch trees.
